FORT MADISON — The Fairfield girls soccer team had their hands full on Thursday. The Trojans tried their luck against a tough Fort Madison squad on the road, but walked out with an 8-1 loss.
It was a rough start for the Trojan girls, as the Bloodhounds scored six goals in the first half. Fairfield got on the board as well, putting one in when Alisia Brock scored off an assist by Savannah Hollander.
The Bloodhounds kept it going in the second half, putting up two more goals. It was Fort Madison’s second-straight 8-1 win over Fairfield in girls soccer.
The Trojans had trouble with Fort Madison freshman Teagan Snaadt, who scored three goals on the day.
Hollander had five of Fairfield’s six shots on goal. The only other shot on goal was Brock’s score.
Kiara Bickham faced 26 shots on goal. She finished the day with 18 saves.
Fairfield is now 0-1. They will play Burlington at Dexter Sports Complex on Monday.
