Fairfield girls sweep Notre Dame on courts

FAIRFIELD — It was business as usual for the Fairfield girls tennis team on Thursday, as the Trojans rolled to their seventh-straight victory to start the season, defeating Notre Dame 9-0.
The Trojans continued to dominate at the top of the singles list. Katrina Paton swept the No. 1 singles match 8-0. No. 2 Penelope Higdon and No. 3 Abby Schaefer each won 8-1.
Lauren Kraemer swept the No. 4 match 8-0, as did Olivia Jones in the No. 5 match. Sydney Wells rolled 8-2 in the No. 6 match.
Paton and Jones picked up a win in the No. 1 doubles match, taking it 8-2. That was the closest doubles match of the day, as Higdon and Schawefer swept the No. 2 match 8-0, and Kraemer and Wells won 8-1 in the No. 3 match.
