Fairfield girls tennis downed in Burlington
Trojans defeated 7-2 against the Grayhounds

BURLINGTON — The Fairfield girls tennis team opened its season on Tuesday afternoon against the Grayhounds of Burlington.
It was a tough first outing for the Trojans, as they were bested by the Grayhound 7-2 on the road.
Fairfield came away with just one win in both singles and doubles.
Tess Paton defeated the Grayhounds Emily Woodsmall 8-2 in the No. 1 singles match. Sydney Wells, Maddy Greiner, Giteeka Adhikari, Emma Wendland and Emily Simpson all fell in the next five matches.
The Trojans picked up another win in the forms of Paton and Greiner. The duo won their doubles match, 8-4.
Wells and Adhikari were defeated in the No. 2 doubles match, as were Wendland and Simpson in the No. 3 match.
Fairfield will return to the tennis courts on Monday, April 11 with a matchup against Mt. Pleasant in Fairfield.
