Fairfield girls' tennis team advances to second round

The Fairfield girls' tennis team advanced passed the first round Saturday at the indoor courts inside the M.U.M. rec center where the college was hosting their inaugural pickle ball tournament. The Trojans barely started playing doubles when a 5-0 sweep was achieved by FHS.
Fairfield defeated Albia 5-0
Singles
No. 1 Yana Gaskell swept Sarah Herz 6-0, 6-0
No. 2 Anatta Charoenkul swept Lauren Kaldenburg 6-0, 6-0
No. 3 Nellie Higdon swept Collette Teno 6-0, 6-0
No. 4 Abby Schaefer defeated Stacie Etcher 6-0, 6-2
No. 5 Tess Paton swept Mollie Solinger 6-0, 6-0
No. 6 Destiny Gridley was close to finishing against Sarah Matt 6-0, 5-0 (didn't complete the game).
Doubles
No. 1 Gaskell/Hidgon started to play doubles but only got into 2nd game when five points was won.
