Fairfield girls tennis tops Mt. Pleasant
Trojans take seven of nine matches in conference matchup with Panthers

MT. PLEASANT — Fairfield girls tennis picked up its second Southeast Conference victory on Monday night with a win over the Panthers of Mt. Pleasant, 7-2.
The Panthers put up a fight, but the Trojans won four of the five singles matches and two of the three doubles bouts.
Sydney Wells was a winner in the No. 1 match, defeating Eliana Situmeang 8-4.
In the No. 2 match, Fairfield’s Madison Greiner won 8-3 over Mary Kate Peterson.
Giteeka Adhikari picked up another win for Fairfield with a 8-6 victory over Victoria Smith.
Una Carter won the No. 5 match for the Trojans, 8-3, over Bethany Drury.
Mt. Pleasant’s one singles victory came from Audrey Richmond. Richmond defeated Lola Hatchette 8-1 in the No. 6 match.
In doubles, the duo of Wells and Greiner won a tightly contest match over Situmeang and Rounceville 9-7 (7-2).
Wendland and Adhikari bested Peterson and Smith 8-4.
The Panther’s second victory of the day came in the No. 3 doubles match as Drury and Richmond defeated Carter and Hatchette 8-5.
