Fairfield JV baseball splits with Grayhounds

Seth Davisson knocked in three runs on a pair of doubles to lead the Fairfield JV team past Burlington in game one of Wednesday?s doubleheader.

The Trojans won the opener 6-3, but the Grayhounds answered back with an 8-7 win in game two for the split.

Also in game one, Alex Simpson pitched all six innings and allowed no runs on three hits for the win. Chet Vogt was 2 or 3 with a double and Jordan Reid had two base knocks and an RBI.

Justin Leonard and Nic Jackson both finished 2 for 2 with one RBI in the second game. Davisson tallied his third double of the day while Alex Christensen knocked in one run. Jackson took the loss, allowing eight runs ? three earned ? in four innings of work. Wyatt Stark allowed no hits or runs in one frame of relief.

Fairfield JV hosts Pella Christian Friday.
