Fairfield JV softball to finish season tonight
The Fairfield JV softball team hit a four-game losing streak, but will have one more chance to right the ship in the season finale at home against Burlington tonight.
The Trojans dropped a pair at home vs. Keokuk Friday and lost two more at Ottumwa Tuesday afternoon. Keokuk beat Fairfield 8-0, 11-0 while Ottumwa came away with 10-0 and 11-2 victories.

The Trojans dropped a pair at home vs. Keokuk Friday and lost two more at Ottumwa Tuesday afternoon. Keokuk beat Fairfield 8-0, 11-0 while Ottumwa came away with 10-0 and 11-2 victories.
In the doubleheader vs. Keokuk, Madison Roberts, Harley Cook, Miranda Metcalf, Sierra Simmons and Siera Drish all had hits in game one while Roberts and Jasmine Elmore tallied the lone base hits in the nightcap.
Against Ottumwa, Roberts had another big day going 2-3 with a double in game one and finished 2-2 in the time-limit-shortened game two. Cheyann Laux, Laura Jackson and Elmore added three more hits in the second game.
