Fairfield JV teams sweep Ft. Madison

The Fairfield JV baseball team came up with a sweep of Fort Madison in Tuesday?s home doubleheader.

The Trojans won game one 9-4 and tallied a 12-2 victory in the nightcap.

Kooper Dahlstrom pitched 4 2/3 innings as the winning pitcher in game one. Dalhstrom allowed three hits and struck out six while also going 2-4 with two RBIs at the plate.

Jordan Whitney and Joe Heitpas each hit two-baggers, Chet Vogt was 2-4 with two RBIs, Austin Deao was 2-2 and Jacob Mineart was 2-3 with two extra-base hits.

In game two, Nick Jackson earned the win on the mound going four innings and striking out five while allowing two hits. Deao pitched one inning of hitless ball in relief.

At the plate, Austin Gridley finished 2-3 with four RBIs including a two-run homer. Whitney was 2-3 with a double, Dahlstrom was also 2-3 and Mineart added three more RBIs.

Next up for the Trojans will be an afternoon game Thursday at Keokuk.

JV softball team blasts Bloodhounds

The Fairfield JV softball team came up with two big wins over Fort Madison Tuesday evening.

The Trojans won game one of the doubleheader 15-5 before taking a 13-0 win in the nightcap.

Katrina Jackson was the winning pitcher in game one after striking out five in a complete-game effort.

Mackenzie McClure and Baylee Bowman each had two singles as part of a seven-hit offense.

In game two, McClure pitched all three innings and struck out six.

Paris Bickham had a double while Bowman and Jolea Burkhart each had two more hits apiece.

Fairfield is scheduled to play another doubleheader tonight at Davis County.
