TIFFIN — Fairfield boys basketball’s regular season came to end on Tuesday with a loss at Clear Creek-Amana 75-59.
The Trojans gave the Clippers a tightly contest game in three out of the four quarters, but a lopsided second frame was enough to give CCA the lead it needed to pull out the victory.
After the first eight minutes of action, Fairfield found itself down by just four, 19-15. The second period was a game changer.
The Clippers went on to outscore the Trojans 28-15 in the second to take a 47-30 lead into the second half. The deficit was just too much for the Trojans to overcome.
Fairfield ended up edging CCA in the second half 29-28, but it wasn’t enough.
With the loss, the Trojans end the regular season at 1-20. In the opening round of the Class 3A Region 4 bracket, they will take on Marion (15-5) on the road.
