Apparently the Washington High School boys basketball team has some clout.
Fairfield appeared in the latest Class 3A rankings after putting together a four-game win streak that started with a 50-46 Southeast Conference win over the Demons. The other three wins were all by double digits.
Southeast Iowa Super Conference member New London moved up to third in the Class 1A poll. South Iowa Cedar League member Montezuma remains unbeaten, but is ranked second behind one-loss Grandview Christian.
River Valley Conference member Camanche is at eighth in Class 2A after being tied for ninth last week.
