Fairfield searches for win against Benton
Trojans look to end two game slide with victory over Bobcats

FAIRFIELD — Fairfield has hit a bit of a rough patch the past two weeks.
The Trojans (1-3) have lost back-to-back games, most recently a 44-33 loss to Keokuk.
Despite the losses, Fairfield’s playing some good ball and have been right there in the end. The loss to the Chiefs was its largest of the season.
This week, the Trojans will face another tough test in Benton (2-2). The Bobcats also enter the matchup on a pair of losses to Mount Vernon, 15-13, and Clear Creek-Amana 21-10.
Voss Richardson leads the Trojans thus far, throwing for 200 yards and two touchdowns.
On the ground, Luke Konczal has 385 yards and four touchdowns. Zandrik Allison also has 366 yards and four scores.
In the receiving game, Ethan Bisgard has 11 receptions for 128 yards and one touchdown.
Defensively, Konczal has accumulated 40 tackles.
For Benton, Carson Nolan has thrown for 201 yards and two touchdowns. Nolan also rushed for 174 yards and three scores as well.
Brenden Heying leads the Bobcat ground game with 381 yards and two touchdowns.
Brody Timmerman had caught nine passes for 106 yards.
Grant Volesky has 23 tackles for Benton.
Benton got the better of Fairfield last season 38-0.
