Fairfield shows out at Wartburg Invitational
Trojan boys pick up numerous top 10 finishes

WAVERLY — The Fairfield boys and girls track and field teams had a very successful day at the Wartburg High School Invitational on Monday afternoon.
On the boys’ side, Aiden Lyons was the highest finisher on the day. Lyons was a 1st place finisher in the 55-meter dash, clocking a time of 6.63.
Tallon Bates followed in eighth with a time of 7.02.
In high jump, Ryan Giberson finished as the runner-up. Giberson jumped 6-00.00 for 2nd, while Eli Zillman finished 5th with a jump of 5-10.00.
In the 55-meter hurdles, Ryan Giberson finished 11th and Kevin Dorothy 12th with times of 9.30 and 9.42.
In shot put, Caden Allison took 12th with a toss of 38-01.50, while Dre Smithburg finished 33rd with a throw of 28-05.00
Riley Perkins clocked a time of 2:25.33 in the 800-meter for 13th. Nate Konczal followed in 21st with a time of 2:28.72.
Dayton Mauk and Konczal took 14th and 17th in the 3200-meter. Mauk ran a 11:58.88 and Konczal 12:22.53.
In long jump, Zillman took 17th with a leap of 17-01.50, while Aiden Krueter finished 22nd with a jump of 16-09.50.
Aiden Krueter finished 17th and Tate Richardson 26th in the 200-meter dash. The two clocked times of 25.66 and 26.37.
In the 1600-meter, Mauk and Gabe Tejada finished 18th and 19th with times of 5:33.51 and 5:34.23.
Spencer McCready and Clae Cass took 16th and 33rd in the 400-meter with times of 1:00.15 and 1:06.82.
Fairfield’s 4x800 team of Dylan Adam, Ben Boatright, Perkins and Dallen Rippey took 5th with a time of 9:12.60.
The 4x400 team of Adam, Spencer McCready, Boatright and Rippey finished 11th with a time of 3:55.62.
In the 4x200, the Trojans finished 12th with a time of 1:46.11.
On the girls’ side, Caroline Van Pelt and Addison Ferrel were the highest individual finishers.
Van Pelt finished 7th in the 3000-meter with a time of 12:56.76. Paige Bisgard followed in the event with 14:38.91 for 11th.

Van Pelt took 8th and Ferrel 9th in the 800-meter. The two clocked times of 2:49.03 and 2:51.47.
Hailey Reinier finished 10th in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 10.19.
In the 1500-meter, Makenzie Kraemer and Malena Bloomquist finished 11th and 13th. The pair posted times of 5:58.98 and 6:04.38.
Madison Martin and Lauren Martin finished 12th and 17th in the 200-meter dash as they finished with times of 30.24 and 31.34.
The shot put was thrown by Kenna Haynes and Emma Septer. Haynes finished 17th and Septer 19 with tosses of 23-05.75 and 22-08.00.
In the 55-meter dash, Rowen Terrell and Adrianna Lyons took 19th and 24th with times of 8.60 and 8.88.
Grace Lyon took 23rd in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:20.27.
In the relays, the 4x800 of Ferrell, Alyia Abott, Grace Lyon and Bailey Belzer took 6th, clocking 12:03.36.
The 4x200 finished 10th with a time of 2:06.22.
Madison Martin, Iris Lane, Lauren Martin and Abbott took 11th in the 4x400 with a time of 5:00.58.
