Fairfield boys and girls soccer ended the week with matchups against Burlington.
The Grayhounds proved to be tough opponents on both sides as neither Trojan team pulled out a win.
The Fairfield boys ended in a draw at 1-1, while the Trojan girls were upended by the co-conference leaders 9-1.
In the boys’ game, a first half goal from the Trojan’s Ian Richards wasn’t quite enough to get the job done as Burlington finished with a goal itself in the first 40 minute period.
Both teams went without a goal through the second and the game ended all tied up.
Binh Truong assisted on Richards’ goal and Henry Swan finished with four saves for Fairfield.
The Trojans did well to give up just one goal as Burlington rattled of 26 shots, 13 of which were on target.
Fairfield is now 2-3-1 on the season.
In the girls’ contest, the Grayhounds didn’t miss a beat, scoring four first half goals.
Haleigh Strickland got the Trojans on the board in the opening period, but they would never score again.
Meanwhile, Burlington added five more to its total through the second.
Fairfield was berated in the loss, as Burlington took 30 shots, 19 of which were on target. The Trojans took 11 shots, six were on target.
Johana Mora ended with 17 saves for Fairfield.
The Trojans drop to 3-4 with the loss.
