Fairfield soccer splits with Keokuk
Trojan boys get first Southeast Conference win, girls still searching for first victory

Fairfield soccer had an high and low ended to its Southeast Conference matchup with Keokuk on Monday night.
The Trojans split with Chiefs, as the boys were big winners 11-1, while the girls lost in penalty kicks 2-1.
On the boys’ side it was never really in doubt for Fairfield. The Trojans scored a whopping five goals in the first half and topped that number in the second with six more.
Along with a stellar night on offense, the Trojans coupled with some great defense, giving up just one goal.
Jaxen Allen scored five of the Trojans goals and also dished out three assists. Binh Truong ended with two goals and one assist.
Noah Patel, Danny Ellingaus, Carter Stark and Ezra Kuster all had one goal and one assists as well.
Fairfield improves to 2-3 on the season and 1-3 in SEC play.
As for the girls, the Trojans held the advantage through 40 minutes. By the time the halftime whistle sounded, Fairfield held onto a 1-0 lead over Keokuk.
Keokuk bounced back in the second, scoring one of their own to make it even. It stayed that way through the rest of regular time.
Neither team could find the winner through two overtime periods and penalty kick were needed to decide the winner. After five attempt each, it was Keokuk who came out on top.
With the loss, the Trojans drop to 0-4 overall and 0-4 in the SEC.
