BURLINGTON — Fairfield softball saw victory and defeat on Monday night in its Southeast Conference doubleheader with Burlington.
The Trojans fell in game 14-6 in game one and were winners 10-4 in game two.
Fairfield was led by Lilly Bergren and Olivia Hollander in game one. The pair had two hits each and Hollander tallied an RBI.
Emma Septer, Faith Jones, Laney Norris and Leah Helmick each had a hit as well. Jones finished with two RBIs, while Helmick and Norris each knocked in one.
In game two, the Trojans were down 3-2 heading into the fifth inning. However, Fairfield erupted in the middle late innings, rattling off eight runs between the fifth and sixth innings.
Leah Helmick finished with three hits and four RBIs. Olivia Hollander ended with a trio of hits as well. Emma Septer and Faith Jones each had two hits and two RBIs. Lilly Bergren secured a pair of hits as well.
Fairfield is now 9-8 overall and 5-3 in conference play.
