Fairfield swims to 5th place behind Larsen’s 2 wins

MUSCATINE — Willow Larsen swam to first place in two events for Fairfield Saturday at the Muscatine Invitational.
Larsen’s time in the 100-yard breast stroke was 1 minute, 13.11 seconds and second place was 1:16.9. Fairfield teammate Grace Sobaski was seventh in the event in 1:26.09.
Larsen was first in 2:21.62 in the 200 individual medley. Second place was more than six seconds behind. Viola Welsh was ninth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:45.2.
Larsen, Welsh, Sobaski and Dakota Wages swam the 400 freestyle relay in 4:58.45 to place seventh. The same relay team was 10th in the 200 free in 2:15.9.
Ivy Larsen swam the 100 backstroke in 1:26.88 to place 11th. Larsen finished the 50 freestyle in 34.05 for 21st, Dakota Wages was 27th in 35.95 and Kiara Bickham was 31st in 36.7.
Larsen, Larsen, Welsh and Sobaski were seventh in the 200 medley with a time of 2:21.63.
Team scores were not available but team places were, in order, Muscatine, Burlington, Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Williamsburg, Fairfield, Tipton, Keokuk.
