Fairfield tennis splits with Keokuk
Trojan boys sweep Chiefs, girls edged by one match

For the Fairfield boys and girls tennis teams, Monday night action against Keokuk concluded with the boys as winners and the girls falling just short.
The Trojan boys were dominant, winning 9-0, while the girls just narrowly fell to the Chiefs 5-4.
For the Fairfield boys, Garrett Flanagan was a winner in the No. 1 singles match 6-2 and 6-0 over the Chiefs Tyce Hoppe.
Jace Hannes won the No. 2 bout 6-3 and 6-2 over Brendan Worster.
In the No. 3 match, Ethan Cass won 6-0 in each of his two matches against Blaine Austen.
Rylan Anderson defeated Zach Atterberg 6-4 and 6-2.
Fairfield’s Niko Emerson was victorious 6-0 and 6-1 over Kole Keppel.
Rocky Galusha picked up a 6-1 and 6-0 win over Quintin Stark.
In doubles, Flanagan and Hannes swept Hoppe and Worster 8-0.
Cass and Anderson defeated Austen and Atterberg 8-2.
The final doubles bout ended with Emerson and Galusha as winners 8-0.
Fairfield improves to 6-5 with the victory.
On the girls’ side, Fairfield won just two of the six singles matches.
Maddy Greiner took the No. 2 match victory 8-1 over Keokuk’s Adi Robinson.
In the No. 6 match, Lola Hatchette won 8-4 against Gracie Thompson.
In the No. 1 match, Sydney Wells battled but was topped 9-8 (4) by Brittany Kelly.
Emma Wendland was defeated in the No. 3 match 8-6 by Sophia Rule.
Giteeka Adhikari fell to Jaelyn Johnson 8-4 in the No. 4 match.
The No. 5 match ended with the Trojans Una Carter losing 8-6 to Aubrey Dade.
For the win, Fairfield needed to win all three doubles matches, but they only got two.
Wells and Greiner defeated Kelly and Robinson 9-7 in the No. 1 bout.
The duo of Wendland and Adhikari were victorious 8-3 over Rule and Dade.
In the No. 3 match, Carter and Hatchette came up short 8-2 against Johnson and Thompson.
