Fairfield to close out season against Grinnell
Trojans look to end regular season with 3A District 5 victory over Tigers

GRINNELL — Fairfield football will close out its regular season on Friday night with a Class 3A District 5 matchup against Grinnell on the road.
Fairfield will look to finish out the season with a win after falling to No. 2 Solon last week 42-6.
Before that, the Trojans grabbed a 20-7 victory over South Tama, 20-7.
Grinnell, much like Fairfield faced a top ranked 3A opponent last week.
The Tigers were defeated by No. 3 Williamsburg 63-8. Prior to the loss to the Raiders, the Tigers picked up wins over South Tama, 49-6, and Benton 21-20.
Friday’s meeting will be the fourth meeting between the two squads since 2018.
Grinnell has won the last three meetings, the latest coming last year by a score of 27-20.
Fairfield’s lone victory came back in 2018. That ended with the Trojans on top 61-44.
Fairfield and Grinnell will battle one another beginning at 7:30 on Friday night.
