Fairfield volleyball holds award banquet
Trojans give season awards as voted by the varsity players
FAIRFIELD -- Fairfield volleyball put one final cap on its season Sunday as the Trojan squad gathered for its Fairfield Volleyball Awards Banquet.
The Trojans gave out awards that were voted on by the varsity players and a pair also received Academic All-State honors.
Award winners were senior Savannah Hollander with the Spirit award; senior Maddie Jones, Most Valuable Player; junior Lilly Bergren, co-Best Offensive; junior Claire Thompson, co-Best Offensive and Most Improved and sophomore Isabel McCready, Hustle and Best Defensive.
Receiving Academic All-State honors from the Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association were seniors Rowan Terrell and Briana Steele.
The two student were given the distinction after meeting two of the following criteria set by the association: Composite ACT score of 27 or higher, cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher, top 10-15% (depending on school size) of their senior class.
