Fairfield wrestling falls short in Fort Madison

Fairfield wrestling hit the road South on Thursday night to square off with the Bloodhounds of Fort Madison.

The Trojans did all they could against the Bloodhounds, which included grabbing six individual victories, but it was Fort Madison that defended its home turf 42-31.

Fairfield’s Cael McCabe (113), Aiden Westercamp (138), Elijah Simons (150) and Dre Smithburg (215) were all winners by fall.

Zandrik Allison won a hard-fought battle at 144, winning by decision, 9-7. Dain Burkhart was the final winner for the Trojans, winning by major decision at 175, 9-0.

In girls action, Fairfield went 2-1.Vianney Gonzalez (115) and Samantha Lyons (170) both won by pinfall, while Alejandra Carminhato fell.
