Fairfield’s Bentler wins in Fort Madison

FORT MADISON — The Southeast Conference girls golfers were at Schaffer Memorial Golf Course in Fort Madison on Monday playing the latest round in the conference’s regular season schedule.
The star of the day was Fairfield’s Ella Bentler, who rose up from seventh spot at her own home meet a few days prior to win the individual title at Fort Madison, shooting a 46.
The Trojans finished fifth as a team, three behind Washington for fourth. Vanessa Kessel shot a 54. Aries Wagner finished at 62, and Olivia Hollander shot a 68.
After two-straight second-place finishes, Mt. Pleasant finished in third, one stroke behind Fort Madison’s. Keokuk won the meet with a 206. Fort Madison shot 210. Mt. Pleasant finished at 211. Washington shot 227, and Fairfield ended up at 230.
Mt. Pleasant’s Ashlynn Beauchamp shot 49, for third overall. Kaylen Hunold and Sophia Walderbach both shot 53. Vivian Cornell finished at 56, and Izzy Zihlman shot 57.
Washington was led by Lucy Sands, who finished the tournament at 52. Lauren Hinrichsen shot 54. Elizabeth Hora shot 59, and Sydeny Stouder finished at 62.
