The high school track and field season may have wrapped up at the state meet in spring, but Fairfield’s Kelsey Pacha hasn’t let up. Pacha continued to sharpen her skills at the AAU Region 14 meet in St. Paul, Minnesota, Saturday and Sunday.
Pacha won the regional high jump championship in the 17-18 age group, clearing 5 feet even. She and Elsa Bildsten of St. Paul were the only two competitors to hit the 5-foot mark.
Pacha took fourth in the long jump competition, leaping 17 feet 1.5 inches.
Pacha qualified fifth for the 100-meter hurdle final with a time of 15.57 seconds, third-best in her heat. She finished fifth in the final, finishing in 15.59 seconds.
The soon-to-be Trojan senior was coming off the Iowa Association of Track Coaches’ state pentathlon in June, where she won three individual events and took first place overall.
Pacha and the Fairfield girls track team won the Southeast Conference title this spring. She was on the Trojans’ shuttle hurdle team taking the bronze at the 2021 state meet.
