Falcons, Ravens battle

LETTS - In an aerial battle of bird mascots between Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division foes, the Hillcrest Academy Ravens and the Louisa-Muscatine Falcons battled Tuesday in a high school volleyball match.
Hillcrest fell prey to the home team and lost 3-1 in a close contest. The Ravens were down 2-0 but rallied to take the third set before dropping the match to the Falcons, who have a record of 2-0. Scores were 25-14, 26-24, 20-25, 25-20.
Yani Gutierrez and Norah Yoder combined for 17 Hillcrest assists and Ester Hughes connected on 10 kills.
The defense of the Ravens excelled as Grace Miller got to 19 digs while Malia Sedlacek had 15 and Evelyn Gerber 11. The Ravens scored 10 aces, including two from Sophie Marshall.
