Fall sports start today

Official practice for Iowa fall sports teams begins today, Aug. 8, and competition begins later this month.

The Mt. Pleasant football team begins its season at Clear Creek-Amana on Friday, Aug. 26.

The next morning, Panther volleyball opens with a game at Clarke, Osceola.

The cross-country team will run in its first meet at Williamsburg on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 30.

Athletes have also arrived on the Iowa Wesleyan campus, preparing for the football, volleyball, cross-country and soccer seasons.

IWC football opens its season on Aug. 27, playing at William Penn University in Oskaloosa.

Volleyball begins the weekend of Aug. 26 with the two-day Mount Mercy Tournament in Cedar Rapids.

Men and women?s cross-country will run at the Mount Mercy Mustang Gallop in Cedar Rapids on Sept. 3.

Tiger soccer kicks off its season with the men at home against Heartland CC on Aug. 19.

Women?s soccer starts with a game at Calumet College of St. Joseph in Whiting, Ind., on Aug. 27.
