FASA team wins Iowa Games gold
The Fairfield Area Soccer Association 12-and-under soccer team participated in the Summer Iowa Games, July 15-17 for the first time and came home with a first-place finish.

The Fairfield Area Soccer Association 12-and-under soccer team participated in the Summer Iowa Games, July 15-17 for the first time and came home with a first-place finish.
Across three days of competition, Fairfield advanced to the finals by defeating the Perry Blue Jays 8-2 on Friday, drawing 2-2 against the Iowa Falls Strykers and defeating the Harlan Cyclones 5-1 during Saturday?s qualification round. In the championship game Sunday, Fairfield defeated Missouri Valley Reds 1-0. Fairfield controlled possession and outplayed the Reds from the start according to coach Felisto Guezimane.
The two Fairfield 12-and-under teams also finished their regular spring seasons taking first and second places at the 641 League Tournament in Oskaloosa on June 30.
