Fedler and Lee go 1-2 in Mepo
Mt. Pleasant duo leads Panther girls to 2nd place

WAPELLO — The first two high school girls cross-country runners to cross the tape on Thursday in Wapello were wearing Mt. Pleasant colors.
Freshman Avery Fedler and sophomore Quintrie Lee took first and second respectively at Mediapolis’ home invitational, which is held at Heritage Oaks Golf Course in Wapello. Fedler crossed in 20:00.5, and Lee was right behind her, in 20:07.4.
The win helped Mt. Pleasant secure second place, with 63 points, just six spots behind Central Lee and one ahead of Danville, who’s senior Alaina Gourley took third place right behind the two Panther runners.
Nelle Peterson was the third Panther across, finishing 12th. Molly Baker was 18th, and Summer Winget finished 30th.
The Panthers scored 97 points to finish fourth on the boys’ side. Silas Hulett had the team’s best finish, taking third place, in 16:49.
Ben Leishman finished 17th for the Panthers. Payton Wilson was 20th. Jeremiah Aguma took 28th. Clark Peterson was 29th. Anthony Krzyzanowki was 30th, and Oliver Rynders placed 36th.
