Fenton lone winner for Pioneers at Mt. P

The Maharishi School girls' tennis team will play at host FHS this Saturday in the regional team tournament held at the middle school courts, but May 2 they traveled to Mt. Pleasant where they were defeated by the host Panthers 8-1.

Singles

No. 1 Olivia Goodale was defeated 8-4 by Erin Zihlman.

No. 2 Yenet Deribe fell 8-3 to Hallie Sandeen.

No. 3 Deepika Vempathi lost 8-4 to Shaleen Thiengmany.

No. 4 Lily Fenton outlasted Breeana Runyon 9-8 for the Pioneers lone victory.

No. 5 Vaisnavii Mohonraj was bested by Sierra Barton 8-2.

No. 6 Sophia Malik was defeated 8-1 by Olivia Larson.

Doubles

No. 1 Goodale/Deribe lost 8-2 to Zihlman/Sandeen

No. 2 Sharma/Vempathi lost 8-2 to Thiengmany/Runyon

No. 3 Mohanraj/Malik lost 8-2 to Larson/Barton
