Iowa Wesleyan big man Jarryd Fernandes capped off his 2019-20 basketball season with an All-Conference selection. The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its all-conference squad in March after the season had concluded and Fernandes was the lone Tiger on the list.
Fernandes was named to the All-Conference third team. The Tiger junior scored 14.9 points per game and led the entire conference with 9.4 rebounds per game.
Fernandes was one of the top defensive players in the SLIAC. He averaged just under one block and one steal a game. His 0.9 blocks per game landed him in the top 15 in the conference.
The SLIAC-champion Webster Gorloks dominated the All-Conference list after going 16-2 in conference play and winning the conference championship from the No. 1 seed. Webster took home five of six individual or team awards, including SLIAC Player of the Year, which went to senior Josh Johnson, who put up 18.1 points per game.
Tiger guard Marvin Saintolien, a junior transfer from Webster, was named to the All-Sportsmanship team. He was one of 10 SLIAC players named, one for each team.
