FHS girls swing past Fort Madison
The Fairfield girls? tennis team continued its mid-season surge and slid in for another close victory Tuesday.
The Trojans won four of six singles matches on their way to a 5-4 win at home against Fort Madison. Ena Alcan once again led the way as she cruised to an 8-0 victory at No. 1 singles before teaming up with Haylee Gilpin to win an 8-3 match at No. 1 doubles.

The Fairfield girls? tennis team continued its mid-season surge and slid in for another close victory Tuesday.
The Trojans won four of six singles matches on their way to a 5-4 win at home against Fort Madison. Ena Alcan once again led the way as she cruised to an 8-0 victory at No. 1 singles before teaming up with Haylee Gilpin to win an 8-3 match at No. 1 doubles.
Jennifer Clements won 8-6 in her singles match, but came up on the other end of a close match with a 9-8 (7-3) loss at No. 2 doubles alongside partner Dana Diers. Megan Palmer came through with another close win with a 9-8 (7-3) win at No. 5 singles followed up by Alex Higdon?s 8-4 victory at No. 6.
In JV action, Devin Maynard and Hanna Kerr teamed up for 6-2 win in doubles.
Next up for the Trojans is another home match Thursday against Davis County.
