Final football rankings: No changes up top

Voting has finished up for the 2021 Cedar Rapids Gazette high school football poll. In a shortened week of rankings, the final Class 5A, 4A and 3A polls have been released ahead of the playoffs for those three classes.

The top teams in each class held. At season’s end, Cedar Rapids Kennedy is the No. 1 team in Class 5A, picking up five of six first place votes. North Scott is a unanimous No. 1 in Class 4A, and Harlan is the unanimous top team in Class 3A.

The final rankings for the four smaller classes were released last week. Two Union area teams ended up in those rankings, with Sigourney-Keota finishing No. 5 in the Class 1A poll and WACO ending the year No. 7 in the Class 8-Man rankings.
