Fairfield Middle School?s seventh-grade ?A? team won its most lopsided game of the season Monday, routing Keokuk 48-19.
The Trojans jumped out to an 11-2 lead after the first quarter thanks to several easy makes in the paint, and they built their lead to 23-8 by halftime.
Kolten Webber was a force underneath the basket, leading all players with 19 points and 15 rebounds. James Lyman tallied 12 points and three assists, Steeler Higdon scored seven with eight boards and Blu Schultz finished with four points and three steals. Cade Lisk netted four and Hunter Drish nabbed three steals.
The Trojans fell in the ?B? game 19-9 and were defeated 18-7 in the ?C? game. Fairfield?s Aaron Haines led the ?B? squad with five points and Stetson Speas scored four in the ?C? contest.
?The kids really played well after having a long break,? said Fairfield coach Tony Vandegriff. ?We now look to get some revenge tonight as we play host to Fort Madison.?
