FMS boys? track competes at Ottumwa
The Fairfield Middle School seventh and eighth-grade boys? track teams traveled Thursday to the Ottumwa Boys Track Invitational.
The seventh-grade team finished in fourth place overall out of seven teams with 75 points.
Kosta Papazoglou and Tristin Waugh tied for first place in the discus competition, while teammate Austin Simpson earned first in the shot put.

The Fairfield Middle School seventh and eighth-grade boys? track teams traveled Thursday to the Ottumwa Boys Track Invitational.
The seventh-grade team finished in fourth place overall out of seven teams with 75 points.
Kosta Papazoglou and Tristin Waugh tied for first place in the discus competition, while teammate Austin Simpson earned first in the shot put.
Dylan Harvey got second place in the 1600-meter run with the time of 5:51. Mark Diers received third place in the same race. Fairfield?s shuttle hurdle team, comprised of Jackson Weaton, Cooper Drish, Brittan Bowman and Collin Breen, got third place with the time of 1:20.
The eighth-graders finished in fifth place with 53 points.
Steeler Higdon finished third in the shot put, while teammates Hunter Bechtel and Max Sullivan finished third in their individual races. Bechtel, Sullivan, Darren Roberts and Aaron Haines combined for a third place finish in the 4x800 relay. The Trojans also got third place finishes in the 800 medley relay and the 4x100 relay.
