FMS eighth-graders go undefeated vs. Ottumwa
In eighth-grade volleyball action at home against Ottumwa Tuesday, the Trojans went undefeated with two victories and two splits.

In eighth-grade volleyball action at home against Ottumwa Tuesday, the Trojans went undefeated with two victories and two splits.
Keri Schwartz had six kill and Sydney Burnett had four service aces to help the ?A? team win a 21-16, 21-14 sweep of the Bulldogs. In the ?B? match, Paige Palmer led the way with five aces and two kills in the 21-18, 9-21 split. Leah Browning had five and Fallyn Garrison had four aces in the ?C? team?s 21-6, 21-15 while the ?D? team split 21-14, 12-21 with the help of 10 aces from Brooke Stever.
The seventh-grade team lost three of its four matches on the road against the Bulldogs including a 25-8, 25-23 loss in the ?A? game. Karley Williams? four aces and Sierra Simmons? and Madison Roberts? two apiece were tops on the team. The ?B? team rebounded from a close 21-19 loss in game one to earn a split with its 21-13 game two victory. Sidney Adams and had five and Leonor Gonzalez and Chey Wallace each had four aces in the match for Fairfield. Danielle Smith put down one ace in the ?C? team?s 21-9, 21-18 loss before the ?D? team also fell 21-7, 21-13. Catherine Mwamsoyo led the Trojans with two aces.
Fairfield will play its season finale Thursday evening against Washington. The seventh-grade team will be at home while the eighth-graders will be on the road.
