FMS runners enter homestretch

WASHINGTON, Iowa ? Sami Fritz won her third meet of the season Tuesday to pace the Fairfield Middle School cross country runners in Washington.

Fritz won with a course time of 9:57, while Ashlyn Elmore was third in 10:13 and Kylie Kurtz finished sixth in 10:49. Maggie Ferrel (ninth, 11:11), Emily Hanna (12th, 11:17) and Ryan Pate (24th, 12:13) also finished in the top-25.

Trojan eighth-grader Elijah Parr led the Trojan boys with an 11th-place finish in 10:11.

The Trojans will be running at Centerville on Tuesday.
