FMS wrestlers begin season
The Fairfield Middle School wrestling team had its season-opening meet Tuesday and a good amount of individual success came with it.

The Fairfield Middle School wrestling team had its season-opening meet Tuesday and a good amount of individual success came with it.
With Albia, Davis County, Keokuk and Ottumwa in town, five Fairfield wrestlers posted two wins apiece. Trenton Hanen needed little more than two minutes to record two pins, while Robert Cupp, Dallas Peebler and Mitchell Burnstedt also came up with two wins by fall. Also winning twice for Fairfield was Charles Heisel, who won by major decision 15-6 before pinning his second opponent.
Single winners included Bailey Kemp, Mitchell Taglauer, Michael Fritz and Luis Jimenez. All four wrestlers won by fall in their respective matches.
Overall, the Fairfield wrestlers grappled to a 14-16 match record.
The Trojans will travel to Fort Madison to face the Bloodhounds, Keokuk and Washington next Tuesday.
