FMS wrestlers win 11 matches Tuesday

FORT MADISON ? The Fairfield middle school wrestling team won 11 of 24 matches at a quadrangular Tuesday vs. Fort Madison, Keokuk and Washington.

The big winners for the Trojans on the evening, winning two matches each, were Dallas Peebler, Bailey Kemp, Michael Fritz and Luis Jimenez.

Peebler won by decision in both matches with scores of 14-13 and 9-2. Kemp?s wins came by fall in 59 seconds and 2:56, while Fritz won by fall (3:30) and decision (2-0). Jimenez pinned one opponent in just over a minute at 1:12 and won by major decision at 13-3.

Single-match winners were Trent Hanen and Alex Sismophane, who both pinned their opponents in under a minute, and Chris Hanson posting a 6-1 win.

The middle-schoolers return to the mat Tuesday at Clark Field House in Burlington to take on Burlington and Fort Madison.
