Football preview: Cobras look for fourth straight win

Sigourney-Keota (3-2, 2-0) at Cardinal (0-5, 0-2)
Sigourney-Keota has been as dominant as they’ve come since starting the season with two tough losses.
Since then the Cobras have won three straight which includes victories over 10th ranked Centerville and No. 1 ranked Pella Christian.
For Cardinal, it’s been a tough start thus far losing five straight, but they’ve continued to improve each week. The Comets are coming off a tight 22-16 loss to Van Buren County.
Cole Clarahan leads the Cobras on the ground with 575 yards and seven touchdowns.
Craig Miller has rushed for 303 yards and a touchdown for Cardinal.
No. 2 (8-player) WACO (6-0, 4-0) at Lone Tree (3-2, 3-1)
WACO will look to continue its hot streak with a win over Lone Tree on Friday night.
Isaac Oswald leads the Warriors through the air with 779 yards and 12 touchdowns. Simeon Reichenbach has 648 yards on the ground and 14 touchdowns. Oleh Shtefanchuk has a team high 185 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
Lone Tree is led by Ethan Bockelman. He has 472 passing yards and 709 rushing yards for 17 total touchdowns.
Tri-County (1-4) at Winfield-Mt. Union (4-2, 2-2)
Winfield-Mt. Union will look to win its third straight with a matchup against Tri-County on Friday.
The Wolves have dominated the competition the past two weeks and will look to do the same with week.
Cole Milks will lead the WMU offense once again. He has thrown for 661 yards and 10 touchdowns. Milks also had 305 rushing yards.
Cam Buffington has been has dominant as they’ve come on the ground. He’s rushed for 949 yards and 14 touchdowns. Through the air he has 232 yards and six touchdowns.
Eli Molyneux leads Tri-County with 806 passing yards and 467 rushing yards. He has 15 total touchdowns.
Iowa Valley (4-2) at New London (3-3, 3-1)
New London will take on the high powered Iowa Valley offense on Friday night. The Tigers will be looking to bounce back from a tough loss to No. 2 WACO last week.
Dom Lopez has 675 passing yards and 11 touchdowns for New London. Lopez has 288 yards on the ground as well.
Boden Pickle leads the Tigers in rushing with 352 yards and five touchdowns. Blaise Porter had 286 receiving yards and 222 rushing yards as well.
Evan Kearney paces Iowa Valley with 1012 passing yards and 1160 rushing yards. Kearney has 36 total touchdowns on the season.
No. 2 (Class 2A) Williamsburg (5-0) at Mid-Prairie (4-1, 2-0)
Mid-Prairie has a tough task ahead in the form of undefeated No. 2 Williamsburg.
Collin Miller leads the Golden Hawks through the air with 340 yards and four touchdowns. Braden Hartley has been great on the ground, rushing for 765 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Carson Huedepohl leads a stout Williamsburg passing attack with 600 yards and seven touchdowns. Gable Dayton has 264 yards on the ground and three touchdowns as well.
North Mahaska (1-4) at Columbus (5-0, 4-0)
Columbus has yet to be fazed this season dominating every opponent they’ve face.
The Wildcats were tested in the first half of last week win against Pekin, but will look to burst out of the gate Friday night.
Kaden Amigon leads Columbus on the ground with 65 carries for 933 yards and 13 touchdowns. Triston Miller follows with 632 yards and nine touchdowns.
North Mahaska is lead by Paul DeJong in the ground game. He has 506 yards and four touchdowns.
Van Buren County (3-2, 1-1) at Central Decatur (3-2)
Van Buren County is looking to get another big win in the district that would put them in solid position for the playoffs.
The Warriors come into this one off a win over rival Cardinal last week.
Jackson Manning has 726 yards through the air and four touchdowns. Sam Warth leads on the ground with 346 yards and seven touchdowns. Anthony Duncan has caught 25 passes for 522 yards.
Sam Boothe leads the Cardinals passing attack with 975 yards and seven touchdowns. Champ Walker has 623 yards on the ground and 14 touchdowns.
Pekin (2-3, 1-3) at Lisbon (2-3)
Pekin will look to get back on track this week after a couple of tough losses to Wapello and Columbus.
The Panthers put together a nice first half against the Wildcats last week, but another tough opponents awaits in Lisbon.
Luke Long leads Pekin through the air and on the ground. Long had thrown for 266 yards and rushed for 324, totaling seven touchdowns.
Cohen Kamaus has 854 passing yards for Lisbon and eight touchdowns. He also has 280 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.
Highland (0-5, 0-3) at Wapello (2-3)
It’s been a tough road for Highland thus far and on Friday, it’s another tough contest.
The Huskies will be looking to get their first win of the season with a victory over Wapello.
Sage Hartley-Norman leads Highland in passing and rushing. He’s thrown for 326 yards and two touchdowns. Hartley-Norman adds 270 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
Casey Short has 780 passing yards for the Indians. Dylan Woodruff has 227 yards on the ground.
