Football preview: Tigers host Warriors for homecoming

No. 2 Winfield-Mt. Union (5-0) at Iowa Valley (4-1)
Winfield-Mt. Union will look to stay perfect on Friday night against Iowa Valley.
The Wolves have been rolling, but so has Iowa Valley.
The Tigers lone loss came against WACO, who the Wolves defeated 34-8 this season. Currently, Iowa Valley is on a two game winning streak.
Jake Edwards leads WMU in passing with 878 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Cam Buffington has a team-best 646 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground along with 511 receiving yards and 10 scores.
Buffington also leads defensively with 51 tackles and nine tackles for a loss.
No. 10 WACO (4-1) at New London (1-4)
WACO will look to keep building on a strong 2023 campaign as the Warriors sole loss came against No. 2 Winfield-Mt. Union.
Meanwhile, New London hopes to get win number two on homecoming after getting its first a week ago against HLV.
Clayton Miller has 472 yards passing for WACO with eight touchdowns.
Louden Huisenga has 489 yards and seven scores on the ground. Huisenga also has a high of 28.5 tackles.
Colton Leichty leads in receiving with 149 yards and one touchdown.
For New London, Gavin Menke-Bailey has 430 yards rushing with seven touchdowns, along with 392 yards on the ground and three scores.
He also has a team-best 33.5 tackles.
Cale Westerbeck is the Tigers leading receiver with 128 yards and two touchdowns.
No. 10 Sigourney-Keota (4-1) vs. Pella Christian (4-1)
Someone will experience their second loss on Friday when the Cobras and Eagles meet on the field.
SK has won four in a row since losing the season opener to PCM.
Meanwhile, Pella Christian is on a two game win streak.
Sawyer Stout has a team-high 248 yards and one touchdown for the Cobras.
Kale Clarahan leads in the run game with 623 yards and eight touchdowns.
Cole Kindred has a high of 217 yards with one score on the receiving end. Jake Moore has 24.5 tackles for Sigourney-Keota.
Columbus (3-2) vs. Louisa-Muscatine (0-5)
Columbus will look to make it three straight victories with a win over the Falcons.
The Wildcats have won back-to-back games against Pekin and Highland over the last two weeks.
Meanwhile, Louisa-Muscatine comes in off five straight losses.
Kaden Amigon sparks the Wildcat offense with 924 yards on the ground with 13 touchdowns.
Riley Kaalberg follows with 532 yards and nine touchdowns.
Van Buren County (3-2) at Danville (3-2)
Van Buren County will hope to keep its hot streak alive with a fourth straight victory this week against Danville.
Since starting 0-2, the Warriors haven’t lost.
Danville comes in on a win streak themselves with victories over Wapello and Louisa-Muscatine.
Izaak Loeffler paces the Warriors in both the passing and rushing game.
Loeffler has 750 yards passing with four touchdowns and 341 yards on the ground with four scores as well.
Lucas Fett has 365 yards receiving with seven touchdowns and Kamden Nusbaum has a team-high 46 tackles.
Highland (0-5) at Pekin (3-2)
Highland and Pekin will square off on Friday night with both hoping to get into the win column.
Highland still is searching for its first win of the season. The Huskies come in after a 55-0 loss to Columbus.
Pekin is currently on a two-game slide, but the Panthers had a great showing against No. 6 Lisbon a week ago, falling just 17-7.
Will Adam leads Pekin with 787 yards and six touchdowns. Adam also leads on the ground with 319 yards and five scores.
Robert Brown has 299 yards receiving with four scores as well.
Henry Adam has a team-best 29.5 tackles.
For Highland, Sage Hartley-Norman has 454 passing yards and three scores. He also has 232 rushing yards.
Ayden Havel leads the Huskies in receiving with 263 yards and three touchdowns.
Logan McFarland has 40 tackles for Highland.
Mediapolis (3-2) at Mid-Prairie (2-3)
Both Mediapolis and Mid-Prairie come into their Friday night contest off a pair of wins.
The Golden Hawks defeated both West Burlington and Davis County, while the Bulldogs downed both Albia and West Burlington.
Historically, Mid-Prairie holds a 5-4 advantage over Mediapolis.
Brady Weber leads the Golden Hawks with 747 passing yards and seven touchdowns.
Hudson Ehrenfelt has 575 rushing yards and six scores, while Cobi Hershberger has 287 yards receiving with one score.
Kaden Kos notched 39.5 tackles through five games.
