The WACO Warriors are back at their old spot in The Gazette’s high school football rankings. After a dominant win over rival Winfield-Mount Union, the Warriors are back in their old position, one week after getting jumped by Don Bosco.
The Dons did knock off No. 6 Gladbrook-Reinbeck last week, but only won by three. The pollsters decided WACO had the more impressive feat.
Sigourney-Keota and Columbus continue to flirt with the Top 10, as the Cobras earned six votes in the Class 1A poll and the Wildcats picked up five votes in the Class A poll.
Columbus will be playing in one of the most important games in the state of Iowa on Friday when they play No. 10 Alburnett for the district championship.
