Four Hawks named to All-RVC team
Four members of the Mid-Prairie baseball team were recognized for their efforts on the diamond this season.

Four members of the Mid-Prairie baseball team were recognized for their efforts on the diamond this season.
Three of the four were named to the All-River Valley Conference All-South Division team, while the other earned honorable mention selection for the South Division team.
Derek Rich made his presence felt on the mound this season, and translated that into an RVC South Division honor, making nine starts on the year and posting a 3-0 record.
The sophomore finished the season with a 2.23 ERA and struck out 55 batters in 44 innings while Rich posted a WHIP of 1.20, only walking nine batters.
Rich was also stellar at the plate this year, posting team-highs in batting average (.393) and RBIs with 24 on the year.
He led the team with 35 hits, and had an on-base percentage of .449.
Another athlete who made his mark both pitching and hitting was Adam Schrock, who was also named to the South Division team.
Schrock finished the season with an on-base percentage of .319 and drove in 15 RBIs, but his performance on the mound was even more impressive.
Schrock posted a team-low ERA of 2.08 and finished with a 5-1 record in six starts and five relief appearances.
The junior struck out 24 batters in 43 2/3 innings, and only issued 12 walks on the season.
The lone senior on the squad, Jackson Yoder was also named to the South Division team, after leading the team in on-base percentage, posting a .484.
Yoder led the team in doubles (7) triples (1) and batted in 17 runs, while scoring 18 of his own.
Yoder?s slugging percentage of .500 was nearly 100 points better than the next highest on the team.
Earning an honorable mention selection to the South Division team was freshman Karson Gingerich.
Gingerich batted .303 on the season, but 12 walks helped move his on-base percentage up to .459 on the season, as he scored 16 runs and had 10 RBIs.
Mid-Prairie finished the year at 13-13.
