Four IW football players named All-UMAC

Four members of the Iowa Wesleyan football team earned Upper Midwest Athletic Conference honors for their play this season. The UMAC All-Conference awards, which were announced last week, were highlighted by Austin DeNoyer (Martin Luther) as Most Valuable Offensive Player and Javon Muhammad (MacMurray)as Most Valuable Defensive Player. The Most Valuable Special Teams Player was awarded to Anthony Fowler (MacMurray College) and the Coach of the Year was Mark Stein of Martin Luther.
Iowa Wesleyan had two members earn First Team All-Conference honors. Running back, Stafford Lewis was named First Team All-Conference after finishing the year in 5th in the UMAC with 89 attempts for 554 yards and 5 touchdowns. He averaged 6.1 yards per carry and 60.4 yards per game.
The Tigers second First Team recipient was Dylan McDonald. He earned First Team All-Conference as a Punter and led the UMAC with 39.7 yards per punt. Despite missing the final two games of the season due to injury, McDonald finished with 43 punts for 1,705 yards. Of the 43 punts, 11 landed inside the 20 and 7 were over 50 yards. He had 4 touchbacks and 7 fair catches on the year.
Onius Heard and Craig Wrenn each earned Second Team All-Conference honors for defense. Heard played in ten games at Defensive Line and recorded 39 tackles on the season. He also recorded 2.5 tackles for a loss of 10 yards and had one sack for a loss of nine yards. Heard forced a fumble as well. Along with Second Team All-Conference, Heard was named to the UMAC All-Sportsmanship team.
Craig Wrenn earned Second Team All-Conference Defensive Back after playing in ten games for the Tigers. Wrenn led the conference in pass defense, averaging 2.00 a game. He finished the season with 18 pass breakups and recorded two interceptions.
