Four Panther boys named All-SEC

The Southeast Conference released its All-Conference boys' basketball teams this week and a foursome of Panthers made the various lists. Senior Sam Beatty was the lone Panther on the first team. Junior Keegan Kohorst made second team, and seniors Rhett Zeglen and Tucker Johnson were honorable mentions.

Beatty led the Panthers with 14.9 points per game in his senior season, and led the Panthers with five blocks. He joins a trio of Fairfield Trojans and two Ft. Madison Bloodhounds on the first team. Fairfield's Austin Simpson was named the conference's Player of the Year.

Kohorst scored 10.4 points per game this season and also led the team with 41 assists. He and Beatty were the only two players who averaged double-digits on the year.

Zeglen and Johnson had almost identical scoring numbers. Zeglen finished the year with 8.5 points per game, and Johnson had 8.4 points per game, as well as a team-leading 34 steals.

Mt. Pleasant also had six players honored for their work outside the class by being listed on the SEC Academic All-Conference list.
