Four Panther girls named All-SEC

The Southeast Conference named its All-Conference teams this week and four Mt. Pleasant players made the list. Maddie Williamson picked up a first-team honor. Sadie Carrasco was named to the second team, and both Lydia Stewart and Emma Huckabone were honorable mentions.

Williamson's first team nomination is no surprise. She was the third-leading scorer in the conference this year, with 11.6 points per game. She scored 13.1 points per game in conference games.

Williamson, who served as the Panther point guard, also led the squad with 39 assists and 49 steals.

Carrasco, the only true post for Mt. Pleasant, had a big year rebounding the ball. Along with scoring 6.1 points per game, she pulled down 157 total rebounds, a team high, including 52 offensive boards. Carrasco was also a defensive standout for Mt. Pleasant. She blocked a team-leading 19 blocks, and was second on the team with 23 steals.

Stewart was the second-leading scorer for Mt. Pleasant. She scored 6.3 points per game and hit 14 three-pointers, second only to Williamson. Stewart was also the team's second-leading rebounder, with 78, and finished second on the team in assists, with 20.

Huckabone served as somewhat a defensive specialist for Mt. Pleasant, but still scored 2.9 points per game. She pulled down 51 rebounds on the season and dished out 10 assists.
