Free-throw shooting was the difference as Winfield-Mt. Union defeated Highland 40-31 in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division game on Tuesday night.

Free-throw shooting was the difference as Winfield-Mt. Union defeated Highland 40-31 in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division game on Tuesday night.
The visiting Wolves (16-4, 15-3 SEISC North) went 19-for-34 from the charity stripe, while the Huskies were just 7-for-17.
?Defensively we didn?t move our feet and they took advantage by being aggressive and getting to the line,? Highland head coach Jody Fink said. ?Once again the opponent made more free throws than we attempted, and that is tough to overcome.?
Sophomore Chelsey Lampe scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Huskies (10-9, 8-9 SEISC North). Senior Kelsey Doreo added six points and 10 boards.
Senior Cassie Kingery scored a game-high 12 points to lead Winfield-Mt. Union, and she also had seven rebounds and five steals in the contest. Junior Shelby Therme added 10 points.
