Freshman boys earn home win
Nick Higgins scored 24 points on 11 of 15 free-throw shooting, and the Fairfield freshman boys? basketball team got back to its winning ways with a 50-41 victory over Washington Monday in Fairfield.
The Trojans trailed 10-9 after the first quarter and fell behind 17-9 midway through the second, but an 11-0 run before halftime put Fairfield back in the lead for good.

The Trojans trailed 10-9 after the first quarter and fell behind 17-9 midway through the second, but an 11-0 run before halftime put Fairfield back in the lead for good.
The Trojans increased their advantage to 36-29 after three quarters and tacked on 14 more points in the final period.
Also scoring for Fairfield were Trevor Drish with 10 points and Alex Crile with eight. Nathan Thompson made a pair of 2-pointers, and Zach Martin contributed three points.
Fairfield continues its homestand next Monday with a makeup game vs. Southeast Conference opponent Keokuk.
