Freshman boys fall to Ft. Madison

The Mt. Pleasant freshman boys fell in a tight game with Ft. Madison on Friday evening. The Bloodhounds led the game 28-24 at halftime and hung on in the second half, knocking the Panthers off 65-59.
Dewon Trent scored 20 points to lead the Panthers in the loss. Sam Jerrel scored 16 points, and Dylan Hagans had 14 to give Mt. Pleasant three double-digit scorers.
Dalton Church finished the game with four poitns. Colton Hutson had three points in the loss and Josh Mueller had two.
It was the second close loss of the week for Mt. Pleasant. After leading Ottumwa 26-20 on Tuesday, the Panthers were upended 51-49 on the road.
Jerrel scored 26 points to lead the team against Ottumwa. Hagans scored eight. Trent had six. Mueller scored four. Reece Kempker had three, and Church finished with two.
Mt. Pleasant's current record is 2-3. The Panthers will take on Washington on the road on Friday, Jan. 4.
