Freshman, JV teams win big in Washington
WASHINGTON, Iowa ? Fairfield volleyball continued its dominant reign over the Southeast Conference with victories in the JV and freshman matches Tuesday.

WASHINGTON, Iowa ? Fairfield volleyball continued its dominant reign over the Southeast Conference with victories in the JV and freshman matches Tuesday.
Fairfield?s JV squad picked up a 25-20, 25-20 victory and the freshman team swept the Demons 25-19, 25-19 at Washington High School.
In the ninth-grade match, Mackenzi Harwood led the attack for the Trojans with 10 kills, and Delaney Neil had five kills and a pair of blocks. Alli Deao and Molly Ryan totaled three kills each, and Olivia Hammel registered a block.
In the back row, Mackenzie Flattery totaled 15 digs, Roberts just missed a double-double with 15 assists and nine digs, and Harwood dug up eight hits.
The Trojans totaled 11 aces in the match, with three each from Roberts, Neil and Emma Kuehl. Deao served up two aces and was 6-for-9 on serve receive.
The JV team was led by Karley Williams? eight digs and three kills as well as Seaira Drish?s five assists and three aces. Erica Winslow tallied three assists to go with three aces; McKenna Ledger totaled three aces, two kills and a block; and Madison Roberts dug up three shots. Paris Bickham and Keri Schwarz added one block each.
Fairfield travels to its final JV tournament of the season Saturday in Indianola. The ninth-graders, on the other hand, have a week off before hitting the road next Tuesday for a conference match against Keokuk.
