Freshman squad drops two games
BLOOMFIELD ? The Fairfield baseball team dropped a pair of games in their season opener at Davis County Wednesday, falling 6-3 in the first game and losing the nightcap 11-2.
Brandon Smithburg paced the Trojan hitters with two hits and a run scored in the opening loss. Trenton Hanen went 2-for-2 and drew a walk, and Josh Osby was 1-for-2 and scored a run.

In game two, Hanen went 2-for-2 with a two-bagger and two runs scored. Smithburg tossed 3 1/3 innings, giving up five earned runs and punching out five.
