WAYLAND — WACO senior Jocelyn Fulton signed her letter of intent last week to attend and play softball at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo.
Fulton, a four-year starter for the Columbus/WACO softball team will be one of the first members of the Hawkeye Community College softball team, as the school will begin its program next year.
Fulton has been a big part of a growing Columbus softball program that has saw its squad jump from a two-win team to a 12-win team in just two years.
Fulton hit a cool .500 last season. She led the team with eight home runs and finished second on the squad with nine doubles and 16 RBIs.
This summer, Fulton and the Wildcats promise to be one of the more dangerous teams in the area after losing just one player from their starting lineup due to graduation.
