MOBILE, Ala. - Fairfield's own Lachlan Gaskell showed he could compete - and beat the best of the best at the Boys' 12s National Tennis Championships, which were held from Aug. 3-10.
Lachlan won six of his seven matches on the day, and didn't lose a single set in the six matches he won. Gaskell took first in the West draw, beating Carel Ngounoue from Washington D.C. 6-4 and 6-0 in the final.
The national tournament was played with a compass draw format, and included 128 12-and-under boys from around the country.
